Job Summary
The EKG Tech will perform electrocardiograms as ordered by a physician or other appropriate health care professionals. This will include routine and emergency EKG, Rhythm strip and Ambulatory EKG orders. The EKG tech will also ensure that all EKGs are interpreted, edited, typed, and charted as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
- High School education or GED equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Computer skills
- Six months of experiencing recording electrocardiograms in a hospital setting or training and experience in performing EKG’s gained through working as a Resident EKG Technician at NWHMC
- Applicants without previous EKG experience are required to successfully complete the NWHMC Resident EKG technician training program and EKG certification examination.
